Hampton Chan is Vice President, Chief Architect for Space Systems/Loral (SS/L). In this role, he is responsible for SS/L’s overall product strategy and continued product enhancement to maintain the company’s leadership position for technical excellence and best-in-class system solutions. Mr. Chan has held several key management positions at SS/L, including the Executive Director of Advanced Programs and Systems and Executive Director of Payload Systems Engineering.

Mr. Chan has more than 24 years of experience in the design, integration and test, and delivery of various types of communications satellite systems.

Prior to joining SS/L in 1995, Mr. Chan was with Hughes Space and Communications Group, where he held various engineering and management positions from Lead Payload Engineer to Communications Systems Engineering Manager.

Mr. Chan holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hawaii.
