Nimiq 6 is a Direct Broadcast Service (DBS) satellite built for Telesat, one of the world’s leading satellite operators.  Nimiq 6 is fully leased to Bell TV and will provide Direct-to-Home television service in Canada, including HDTV channels and other video content for Bell TV’s growing subscriber base. An all Ku-band satellite with 32 high-power transponders, Nimiq 6 will utilize SSL’s flight-proven 1300 spacecraft bus and be located at 91 degrees West longitude. The satellite was scheduled launched in 2012.
